Classes offered by Dancing Unlimited
We offer a variety of classes tailored to meet the individual needs of any dancer on any level!
Twinkle Twos (Ages 2-3)
Introductory dance class for toddlers containing ballet, tap and creative movement. Students are introduced to basic ballet and tap vocabulary, while exploring movement and music in a fun, creative way. Students will also work on classroom skills such as following directions, listening and working with others. This class is a positive and fun first dance experience for all!
Pre-Stars (Ages 3-6)
Dancers will learn basic steps and terminology in ballet and tap, and explore their own creative movement styles through the use of imaginative music and games in a safe, positive environment. Dancers in this class will improve flexibility and coordination through fun, age appropriate movement and exercises.
Learn the basics or work on advancing your skills in this flexible Acro class! Our experienced acro instructor will guide the class towards increased flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline and concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique, teaching such skills as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance and contortion tricks. Placement based on age and experience level.
Students will continue to enjoy expressing themselves through the art of dance in this fun and interactive class. At this level, students will learn more challenging tap and ballet skills. Students will learn barre and center work based on the Cecchetti method as well as classroom etiquette.
Beginner level: Students will learn the fundamentals of each style such as isolations and flexibility. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and bring their own personality to each movement.
Int/Adv level: Students' knowledge of hip hop fundamentals will be expanded upon by explaining and demonstrating various techniques and methods. Students will be exposed to multiple styles of hip hop dance.
Jazz class will focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well rounded dancer. Class curriculum is based on ballet technique layered with traditional jazz movement and includes a proper warm-up, stretches, isolations, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
Lyrical class is designed for intermediate to advanced students with previous training in ballet. Students will explore partnering and weight sharing exercises combined with basic techniques and skills from ballet, jazz and modern using the Horton technique. It emphasizes interpretation of music lyrics while telling a story with movement that can be fluid or abstract. As students progress through each level curriculum will become increasingly more complex and intricate.
